In Sant'Ambrogio area a very special tea room has opened less than a week ago: abandon any preconception linked to spirituality, the cloying East and what it entails (plants, natural wood and the thousand shades of white and beige). TeaCup is a whole other experience: inspired by Tim Burton and the imaginative landscape of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, this small space is the place to get lost in the dreamlike and gothic / grotesque calls of the Smashing Pumpkinks. A Victorian approach, in hindsight, which finally proposes in Milan a completely new vision of understanding the experience linked to tea.
TeaCup is the courageous creation of Lavinia, who opened her tea house after years of projects in this difficult and delicate historical moment.
The environment has been thought out in every detail by the owner, who worked on the design personally with the help of Isola Design Studio and an artist from the Brera Academy, the furniture is all Italian.
As it is easy to guess, here nothing is left to chance: from the chairs with 2D effect, to the numerous references to Alice, the purple and black color, but also the hypnotic spiral on the wall of the second room of Hitckokian memory and then presented in numerous versions dark and gothic. Furthermore, the walls are mostly still empty: this is because TeaCup is a space in the making, a place where young and independent artists are invited to exhibit their works - for this reason, if interested, I invite you to contact Lavinia at the following email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Even the blends are obviously the fruit of Lavinia's creative mind, a fine connoisseur and scholar of tea since time immemorial. The menu is really interesting and innovative, as are many of the names of the blends to choose from: Sweet Child Of Mine, Sweet Temptation, White Rabbit, Bollywood or the delicious Fire Walk With Me (which I highly recommend), just to name a few. Japanese matcha green tea is also a must, as well as the hilarious Rainbow Latte (also available in a vegan version with almond milk).
The teas are on sale, so I recommend you come and discover them all. But if you want to have a snack this is the right place: the desserts are made by a trusted confectionery laboratory, some are even vegan, and many are made with the same tea as TeaCup.
To top it all off, fresh drinks, soda, coconut water and kombucha.
In short, what are you waiting for? TeaCup is a must do experience!
