Jade café

A few steps from Duomo there is an oriental restaurant that bears the name of Jade Café. Open since 2009, it represents a sort of spin-off of the famous restaurant next door, Giardino di giada (opened in Milan since 1980 and specializing in Cantonese Chinese cuisine).

The Jade Café presents itself as a broader alternative to its predecessor, offering dishes not only Chinese, but also Thai and Japanese fusion.

The environment is very refined: wooden interiors and soft lighting make it perfect for a business lunch or even a romantic dinner.

Chiara, daughter of the owners of the Giardino di giada, is an excellent hostess and together with the staff she will pamper you throughout the dinner.

For lunch, business lunches are offered, while for dinner the menu becomes really wide, there is something for all tastes but perhaps too much.

So I decide to try different dishes to range between the various cuisines proposed.

As a welcome, an excellent fish and salad-based roll is served, very fresh and tasty. Dinner continues with tom yum kung and pad thai, both of which are delicious. Here the Thai cuisine is very accurate and tasty. I am pleasantly surprised, two mouth-watering dishes. The same reaction, however, does not happen with sushi dishes: both the mixed sushi and the uramaki dragon roll did not live up to expectations. A pity because the Chinese proposals are also very good.

Today the restaurant is experiencing a new renaissance. The menu is in fact undergoing revision, as is the whole bar area.

In my opinion Jade Café remains a valid option in the Duomo area to eat a good Thai and Chinese meal at the right price in such a renowned area.
