G81 Bento&mood

The famous Osaka restaurant, opened in Milan in 1999 and counted among the best places of traditional Japanese cuisine, has recently opened its own gastronomy in the space already dedicated to Japanese clothing and objects called G81.

The proposal is very simple: classic Japanese dishes to be consumed in convenient trays, as is customary in Japan.

The bentos are modular: just choose the type of rice, a couple of side dishes and the main course (fried chicken, grilled salmon, pumpkin croquette, pork cutlet). Added to this is a small à la carte menu that offers takoyaki, onigiri, donburi (meat or vegetable), kuzumochi (jelly with azuki heart and black sugar sauce) and the dessert of the day.

Among the proposals tried there is the bento with tonkatsu, a side dish of daikon and carrot with vinegar and tamagoyaki, as well as donburi I opted for the gyudon and finally the takoyaki (which unfortunately were accompanied only by the "sweet and sour" sauce).

Everything I tried was really very good, after all the quality of the Osaka restaurant is a guarantee. The portions are all balanced and the proposals very tasty. Being bento boxes, the dishes arrive cold, so maybe I suggest you reheat them (the containers can be put in the microwave or in the oven, just do not insert the plastic lid). In general I can say that I was satisfied, it is certainly a good alternative to a quick lunch: after all, that's why bento is needed!
